💡 How to hang wallpaper

Before starting work and hanging the wallpaper, please pay attention to the following aspects: check the article number, the batch number, and the pattern repeat symbols. Please keep the control slip and wallpaper samples.

Carefully prepare the surface

Surface preparation – the surface must be dry, sound, capable of absorbing moisture evenly, clean, neutral, and smooth. Old wallpaper and water-soluble coatings must be removed. Cracks and holes should be filled with a spackling compound if necessary, while highly absorbent surfaces must be pre-primed with wallpaper paste (sizing). Old, unstable surfaces that cannot bear a load must be primed with a specially designed wallpaper primer.

Attention! Non-woven wallpaper must be hung on a uniformly colored surface. For this reason, we recommend applying a pigmented base coat under the wallpaper.

The adhesive must be applied directly to the wall.

We recommend using a high-quality, reliable brand of adhesive specifically designed for non-woven wallpaper, and following the preparation instructions provided. Thoroughly mix the non-woven wallpaper adhesive according to the manufacturer's guidelines. Using a roller, apply the adhesive to the wall over the width of the wallpaper roll.

 Hanging the wallpaper.

Hanging non-woven wallpaper always begins "from the light," which means that wallpapering the walls should start near a window. Ensure that the first strip of wallpaper is applied in a perfectly vertical line and properly aligned vertically, so that subsequent strips can be hung straight.

After the wall is coated with adhesive, the non-woven wallpaper is applied directly to the wall and smoothed out with a roller; moreover, this type of wallpaper requires no soaking time. Using a soft wallpapering brush, a cloth, or a microporous rubber roller, press the strip firmly against the wall and smooth it out to prevent the formation of air bubbles.

Trimming the excess and finishing up...

Trim the overhanging edges of the wallpaper at the top and bottom. Hang the subsequent strips of wallpaper perfectly edge-to-edge (butt joint). A conical seam roller can be used at the joints. Please note that strong heat and drafts must be avoided during application and drying. The optimal working temperature ranges from 18 °C to 25 °C.

Additional tips

Another advantage of decorating walls with non-woven wallpaper is that, if applied properly, it can be easily and completely removed dry from the wall during your next renovation.

Description

Light greige AS Creation non-woven wallpaper with a matte and slightly textured surface

Look and feel This non-woven wallpaper from the renowned German manufacturer "AS Creation" (density 230 g/m²) stands out with its pleasant, natural light greige or sand tone. It features no drawings or patterns – its main asset is a fine-grained, slightly uneven texture that visually resembles natural fabric or fine plaster. The wallpaper has a fully matte surface, which makes it look exceptionally calm, discreet, and natural.

Mood in your space

  • Play of light: Since the surface is completely matte and slightly textured, rather than reflecting light, it softly absorbs and diffuses it. This means that even in the brightest sunlight, there will be no distracting glare on the wall, but rather a soft and cozy ambiance.
  • Mood and space: The very light and warm neutral tone helps visually expand the space, making it brighter and more airy. It is an extremely versatile choice that creates a natural and serene backdrop in any room – living room, bedroom, nursery, or hallway.
  • Touch: Touching the wallpaper, its firm and slightly embossed material is tangible. This delicate structure and thick non-woven backing (230 g/m²) offer a very practical benefit – helping to visually conceal small wall imperfections or minor flaws.

Tapetenshop expert advice: "As experts at Tapetenshop, we recommend this wallpaper to anyone wishing to create a sense of natural peace and cozy brightness in their home. It will be ideal for those who love simple, cozy decor with a touch of natural materials (such as Scandinavian or country house style).

The thick non-woven material ensures that the wallpaper is easy to hang – paste is applied directly to the wall, with no time or material wasted on pattern matching. The light, neutral tone pairs wonderfully with natural wood furniture, soft fabrics (linen or wool), as well as houseplants and light accents. Our key recommendation: if you wish to create a visually warm and cohesive space, you can safely wallpaper all the walls of the room, as this serene design will never grow tiring and will serve as a flawless backdrop for your favorite furniture and framed pictures."
