💡 How to hang wallpaper

Before starting work and hanging the wallpaper, please pay attention to the following aspects: check the article number, the batch number, and the pattern repeat symbols. Please keep the control slip and wallpaper samples.

Carefully prepare the surface

Surface preparation – the surface must be dry, sound, capable of absorbing moisture evenly, clean, neutral, and smooth. Old wallpaper and water-soluble coatings must be removed. Cracks and holes should be filled with a spackling compound if necessary, while highly absorbent surfaces must be pre-primed with wallpaper paste (sizing). Old, unstable surfaces that cannot bear a load must be primed with a specially designed wallpaper primer.

Attention! Non-woven wallpaper must be hung on a uniformly colored surface. For this reason, we recommend applying a pigmented base coat under the wallpaper.

The adhesive must be applied directly to the wall.

We recommend using a high-quality, reliable brand of adhesive specifically designed for non-woven wallpaper, and following the preparation instructions provided. Thoroughly mix the non-woven wallpaper adhesive according to the manufacturer's guidelines. Using a roller, apply the adhesive to the wall over the width of the wallpaper roll.

 Hanging the wallpaper.

Hanging non-woven wallpaper always begins "from the light," which means that wallpapering the walls should start near a window. Ensure that the first strip of wallpaper is applied in a perfectly vertical line and properly aligned vertically, so that subsequent strips can be hung straight.

After the wall is coated with adhesive, the non-woven wallpaper is applied directly to the wall and smoothed out with a roller; moreover, this type of wallpaper requires no soaking time. Using a soft wallpapering brush, a cloth, or a microporous rubber roller, press the strip firmly against the wall and smooth it out to prevent the formation of air bubbles.

Trimming the excess and finishing up...

Trim the overhanging edges of the wallpaper at the top and bottom. Hang the subsequent strips of wallpaper perfectly edge-to-edge (butt joint). A conical seam roller can be used at the joints. Please note that strong heat and drafts must be avoided during application and drying. The optimal working temperature ranges from 18 °C to 25 °C.

Additional tips

Another advantage of decorating walls with non-woven wallpaper is that, if applied properly, it can be easily and completely removed dry from the wall during your next renovation.

Description

The main distinguishing feature of this wallpaper is its absolutely pure, monochrome and warm creamy beige (light sand-coloured) tone, without any additional patterns.

The most significant added value of this design is its deeply matt surface, which is perfectly harmonised with the subtle, tactile texture characteristic of natural linen fabric. Visually, this design mimics a uniformly woven linen cloth, completely eliminating any unwanted sheen and giving the walls a distinctly organic, noble and visually soft appearance.

In interior design and the psychology of spaces, this combination of neutral, warm earthy tones and a matt fabric texture is an indispensable fundamental element (‘a blank canvas’) that allows for the creation of a balanced, airy and exceptionally cosy space.

The psychological aspect and its impact on the space:

  • Universal tranquillity and visual ‘silence’: Pure shades of sand and beige subconsciously provide emotional stability and a sense of peace. They act as a visual stress reliever in the room, reducing cognitive load and allowing the mind to relax completely. Such a backdrop never tires the eye and never goes out of fashion.

  • Visual spaciousness and maximised light: The light, warm tone brilliantly captures the natural light in the room, visually receding the walls and making even small or dimly lit rooms feel considerably more spacious and airy.

  • Natural light diffusion and tactile warmth: The deeply matt texture perfectly absorbs and gently diffuses light, preventing irritating glare in sun-drenched rooms. The fabric-like surface removes the ‘cold’ architectural character from the walls, provides a pleasant tactile sensation and helps to perfectly conceal minor wall imperfections (which is particularly important for plain-coloured wallpapers).

Expert recommendations for room selection:

Thanks to its absolute versatility, this wallpaper is ideally suited for:

  • As an excellent base or ‘companion’ wallpaper: it will pair perfectly with any of the botanical, floral or striped patterns discussed earlier, allowing you to highlight an accent wall whilst maintaining a unified texture and style throughout the room.

  • For decorating any room (living rooms, bedrooms, hallways): creating a neutral, elegant and cosy backdrop that allows furniture, artwork and interior décor to stand out.

  • For minimalist, Japandi or Scandinavian-style interiors: where the main emphasis is on natural materials (wood, linen, stone) and an austere cosiness without unnecessary visual clutter.
